Best Halal Afternoon Tea in London
Are you looking for the best halal Afternoon Tea in London? Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for a unique and enjoyable afternoon tea experience to share with friends, family, or a loved one, we've got you covered! And as it happens, we have a thing or two to tell you about the halal status of our afternoon tea menu. (Plus we have a little something for you at the end of this article, too!)
Halal Afternoon Tea menu
We realise that halal afternoon tea isn't as readily available everywhere in London, especially not on bus tours! A lot of places that offer afternoon tea, traditionally, don't tend to have a halal option. But we know eating halal is important to a huge portion of our loyal customers. And that's exactly why we've made the decision to switch our afternoon tea menu (both on our afternoon tea bus tours and in our bakery in Covent Garden) to being completely halal.
While we've been offering a Halal menu as an alternative option for years, the truth is that all our other menus (including the Traditional afternoon tea) use halal food options, with halal turkey ham or vegan bacon instead of pork. In fact, no pork is handled anywhere in our food preparation, and all the meat we serve is certified halal.
What this means for you is that you always have a choice of different afternoon tea menu options (all absolutely scrumptious in their own way). And no matter what you pick, you can be confident you'll be having halal food.
Our afternoon tea menus
So if all the food we serve at Brigit's Bakery is halal, what's the difference between the various afternoon tea menu options? Our Traditional and Halal afternoon tea menu options are exactly the same. They include:
- Mini mushroom quiche.
- Cucumber, cream cheese, and mint finger on basil bread.
- Turkey ham and cheese, mayo mustard finger on granary bread.
- Feta, tomato, and red pepper savoury muffin.
- Tuna mayo pretzel.
Doesn't just reading this make you hungry?
If you fancy some more variety, or if you or a member of your party require a different afternoon tea menu option, we also have Vegan, Vegetarian, and Gluten-Free menus available. And that means even more amazing choices for you. Examples of savoury options from our Vegetarian menu include:
- Feta, tomato, and red pepper savoury muffin.
- And mozzarella, cherry tomato, and pesto pretzel.
And from our Vegan menu:
- Sweet chili hummus wrap with lettuce, grated carrots, avocado, and roasted peppers.
- Grated vegan cheese bun with pesto, tomato, lettuce, and roasted peppers.
- Beetroot hummus and cucumber finger sandwich on granary bread.
- Quinoa pot with fresh minty vegan mayo, topped with baby cress.
- Vegan quiche with mixed peppers and cheese.
But what about alcohol?
Of course, we understand that alcohol doesn't quite fit within the halal requirements. While we do serve alcohol on board our afternoon tea bus tours and in our Covent Garden bakery, items from our wine list aren't included as default in the menu. All alcoholic beverages are to be purchased separately. In fact, on all our bus tours, they have to be ordered in advance and at the point of booking as our staff can't take payments onboard. So you can be 100% sure that no alcohol will land on your table (unless it was specifically purchased or requested) while you enjoy your afternoon tea.
The only exception to this is our Gin Lovers Afternoon Tea Bus Tour, where our assortment of mini homemade cakes and tarts is infused with gin, and drinks from the Bombay Sapphire gin menu are included in the price of your ticket. But all our afternoon tea bus tours have no alcohol on the menu - and that's true for both our freshly-prepared savoury (including our delicious finger sandwiches) and for all sweet treats.

Was after a different afternoon tea experience, having experienced many before, and this was perfect! Touring London and sipping away whilst enjoying some delicious savoury and sweet snacks. Ideal location and very easy to find from the information available online, website was easy to book as well, very user friendly. Great experience from booking to enjoying the day. Bonus for us was that it was halal too! Prebook the halal option and you're good to go. Also, very friendly and polite staff. Executed very well. Must try!"
