Children in Need Fundraising: Pudsey & Peppa Pig Promo November 2024
Are you ready to make a real difference in the lives of children in need while enjoying a delightful family adventure? This November 2024, Brigit's Bakery is thrilled to announce an exciting collaboration that combines fun and philanthropy in a truly unique way. Throughout the month, our popular Peppa Pig Bus Tours will feature a special Pudsey Cupcake—a sweet treat inspired by the lovable bear that represents BBC Children in Need. For every seat booked on our amazing Peppa Pig tours, Brigit's Bakery will donate £1 to this remarkable charity.
But this initiative isn’t just about indulging in yummy cupcakes. This is a chance for families to come together and support a cause that touches the hearts of many. By participating in this collaboration, you'll enjoy a magical experience aboard the Peppa Pig Bus while also directly contributing to the vital work of BBC Children in Need as they strive to improve the lives of vulnerable children across the UK.
Our Peppa Pig Afternoon Tea Bus Tour
Developed in collaboration with Brigit’s Bakery, Hasbro, and Entertainment One, the Peppa Pig Afternoon Tea London Sightseeing Bus Tour is a fantastic experience for the whole family. It's the ideal ‘First Afternoon Tea’ specifically designed with your little ones in mind (the tour is suitable for children aged 2 years+).
For this tour (running daily 2 or 3 times a day from Somerset House), our skilled pastry chefs have crafted a special Peppa Pig-themed afternoon tea menu that will captivate both kids and adults. And don't forget that for the whole of November, in aid of BBC Children in Need, we'll be adding a very special Pudsey Cupcake, too!
As you journey through Central London, our bus provides breath-taking views of iconic landmarks such as Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Hyde Park, Nelson’s Column, Tower Bridge, St Paul's Cathedral, Borough Market, Green Park, Piccadilly Circus, and many more.
At each table, a built-in tablet enhances the experience with a Peppa Pig guided animation of the London tour. Additionally, our onboard entertainer will keep the journey lively with sing-along songs and family-friendly games. Children will receive a Peppa Pig Afternoon Tea Bus Tour Activity Book to take home, and each family will depart with a Peppa Pig travel cup as a treasured keepsake.
Please note that these tours are very popular and get booked up quickly, so don't forget to grab your place if you want a little slice of Pudsey fun!
Who is BBC Children in Need?
BBC Children in Need believes that every child should have the chance to thrive and be the best they can be. The charity makes sure there’s someone able to give food, clothes and beds to a child living without; someone qualified to talk a child who is anxious, isolated or grieving; someone trained to mentor teenagers in communities facing inequality, violence or lack of opportunity; someone to be there for children living with serious illness, disability or carrying a load that’s just too heavy to manage alone.
Join BBC Children in Need for its annual Night of TV in November for stories of some amazing young people, incredible entertainment and some special guests to help change the lives of hundreds of thousands of children across the UK. Friday 15 November at 7pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
Core appeal and the 'Make Life Lighter' campaign
The charity prioritises essential services, such as access to food, clothing, and shelter for children. But they also provide qualified support for children experiencing anxiety, isolation, grief, or serious illness. Committed to offering holistic support, BBC Children in Need supports other charities, funding people and projects across the UK, in the communities where you live. The charity funds amazing people in family centres, community spaces, youth clubs and refuges; homeless shelters, hospices and helplines.
This year, BBC Children in Need is calling on the public to contribute to the 'Make Life Lighter' campaign. Thanks to the support of our communities, they can change the lives of hundreds of thousands of vulnerable children when they need it most. And together, we can make a meaningful difference in their lives!
The context for children and why your donations matter
Children across the UK are facing unprecedented challenges, with rising mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression. Over the past five years, the likelihood of young people experiencing mental health issues has soared by around 50%. Sadly, 30% of children in the UK live in poverty, leading to widespread inequality and a lack of opportunities for many.
To address these pressing needs, BBC Children in Need funds nearly 1,500 projects across the nation, investing £91.5 million into community-based initiatives that support vulnerable children. In 2022/2023 alone, they helped over 426,000 children and young people through various programmes, focusing on mental health, emotional well-being, and poverty alleviation.
Right now the charity are only able to help 1 in 8 organisations who ask us for money. The support of the public matters more than ever before.
How can we raise money for children in need?
If you're after some ideas to raise money for BBC Children in Need, the obvious one is to jump onboard our Peppa Pig Afternoon Tea Bus Tour in November. But there are lots of charity activity events or fundraiser projects you can organise or take part in.
Here are a few examples:
- Sponsored walk or run. Why not organise a family walk or run in your local area? Set a distance goal and seek sponsorships from friends and family.
- Bake sale. One that's close to your hearts, hosting a bake sale at home or in your community could be a lot of fun. You can even take inspiration from the goodies we sell our Brigit's Bakery.
- Movie night fundraiser. Turn a cosy family movie night into a fundraiser by charging a small entry fee for family and friends, complete with popcorn and a donation jar for extra contributions. You know you want to!
- Charity car wash. Why not set up a car wash in your neighbourhood? Families can work together to wash cars for donations, engaging with the community while raising funds.
- Family talent show. Organise a talent show showcasing family members' skills. Charge an admission fee for spectators and encourage additional donations during the event.
Supporting Children in Need - the impact of your donations
As we come together this November to support this wonderful initiative, let's remember that our contributions not only benefit BBC Children in Need but also help highlight the vital work of various non-profit organisations for children across the UK. Whether you’re fundraising for schools in the UK or looking to support charities for disabled children, every action counts in making a positive change.
From local community events to larger donation drives, there are countless donation organisations for children that rely on the generosity of people like you. By participating in events like our Peppa Pig Bus Afternoon Tea Bus Tour, you’re not only enjoying a fantastic experience but also joining a collective effort to uplift children in need across the nation.
